God’s Will: Self-Denial and Divine Fulfilment

Gaze upon the crown that adorns all virtues, which is Truth, in fact identical with God’s Will, sustaining the virtuous in spiritual power. This is pure passion and tenacity, and nothing is capable of greater passion. Forged in self-denial’s crucible, it blazes with the flame of divine fulfilment. This is no mere bauble but a sword aloft through chaos of worldly mirages. In Logos’ realm, where “dialectical processes” reign and spiritual mastery through disciplined virtue-building is pursued, Willpower stands cutting edge in our eternal General’s most sacred and finalising act.

Willpower: Love’s Driving Force

Structural Virtues Theory (SVT) crowns Willpower as the twelfth and ultimate virtue, nothing of its essence in imagined tyranny of some unwanted responsibility but rather love’s liberating force and the joyous duty arriving with it. This is ontological truth: divine affection binds us to eternal order through its ultimate greatness, shaping our very existence in every single way. Thus, Willpower is more than Temperance or resisting temptation, it is choosing the highest good with regularity, at personal “cost,” and is therefore freedom; the only real freedom. It is all things in valuing the truth given to us thus far and thirsting after the greater truths still, constantly seeking after capacity in application.

Meekness and righteous hunger are the fruits of completions in moments of Morality and Spirit. Meekness isn’t weakness however, it’s death to selfish desires for the sake of going after divine purposes. In SVT, Willpower synthesises prior virtues that elevate the soul and the goal. We fight for nothing short of eternal life for others. The faith doesn’t just save our eternal souls, it also makes this very mortal life worth living.

Self-Denial: Gateway to Spiritual Ascension

SVT posits self-denial as spiritual growth’s prerequisite, a “self-death” clearing the pathway for divine life. This is the opposite of masochism in acknowledging true vitality in surrendering ego’s illusions. Paulus, Truth’s ultimate warrior, proclaims:

“I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside God’s grace, because if righteousness could come through the law, then Christ died for nothing!” (Galatians 2:20-21)

This active transformation, death to self allowing a divine reign, is complete surrender.

In Logos’ domain, where dialectical reasoning and virtue mastery are paramount, Willpower unlocks mind’s full potential. It transcends flesh-spirit dichotomy, recognising a grander unity rather than opposition, in the purpose set out by God. The soldier in Christ must wield Willpower precisely and with humility, lest he allow his mortal and more particular material desires take hold.

The Crown of Universal Order

Resurrexit Spiritus expounds on this, asserting “Universal Order” as virtue mastery’s ultimate goal. As the soldier in Christ’s final, most sacred act, Willpower isn’t mere means but divine order alignment expression. It transforms chaotic into harmonious, fragmented into whole. Thus, Willpower becomes virtues’ eternally moderated struggle between flesh and spirit, spirit’s triumph through disciplined self-denial. Beloved created, let God’s Truth and Willpower be your sword, that is self-denial for the sake of Truth as weapon. Within the fight for eternal life the key to spiritual victory is sharing with others these truths, triumph through surrender, arisen through faith.
