Loyalty, the fourth virtue, evolves naturally from ordered pride and budding mastery in the moments of the Honesty aspect in Reason. Loyalty, as a virtue skill, can often prove very hard won, especially these days when trusting people are liable to be burned a lot before learning to be more discerning and discriminating. The capital L virtue Loyalty is a devotion to those aligned with the same levels and interpretations of Honour, a bond that transcends mere convenience or simple shared interest. Loyalty is harmony’s first glimmer, an echo of the unity that underlies all existence.
This virtue answers the call of Spirit, the meaning of God’s Reason, the discourse toward greater love. This love improves with the discourse, which is identical with identifying and doing greatest Good. It is not blind allegiance but a necessity to stand with others in pursuit of shared values which go past interests alone, most especially in goodness and toward God. Honesty here is about divine authenticity, which is not just being true to oneself and loves ones, of course, but most importantly, to God.
Loyalty increases harmony in all actions, opening the door to the Analysis aspect of Reason. It reminds us that virtue is not a solitary pursuit; it thrives in community, through endeavours motivated in shared values toward the Good.
